Die Massenproduktion erm\u00f6glichte es, standardisierte, identische Objekte in Massen zu produzieren und so die Kunst “unter Strohdach\u201c zu bringen. Der Jugendstil, auch Art Nouveau genannt, verwendet geschwungene, dynamische Linien, die von der Natur inspiriert sind und sich auf deren Elemente wie Bl\u00e4tter, Blumen, Spinnennetze, Wurzeln, Schmetterlinge, Libellen oder Federn beziehen. Reiche Ornamente, Glasmalerei mit floralen Motiven, Pastellfarben und Asymmetrie herrschten vor. Bei der Gestaltung des Jugendstildekors wurde versucht, stilistisch koh\u00e4rente Kreationen aus verschiedenen Bereichen zu kombinieren: Malerei, Skulptur und angewandte Kunst. Obwohl die volle Bl\u00fctezeit des Modernismus in den 20er Jahren des XX. Jahrhunderts liegt, war schon vorher eine Hinwendung zum Minimalismus und zu modernen Formen zu erkennen. Die Pioniere dieses Trends wandten sich gegen den ausufernden Konsum und die \u00fcberw\u00e4ltigende Vielfalt und Pracht der Inneneinrichtung. Sie konzentrierten sich auf Einfachheit und Funktionalit\u00e4t. Ihre Entw\u00fcrfe enthielten keine \u00fcberfl\u00fcssigen Verzierungen, sondern fielen durch ihre ungew\u00f6hnlichen geometrischen Formen auf. 1919 wurde die Schule f\u00fcr Gestaltung am Bauhaus er\u00f6ffnet, die die Berufe des K\u00fcnstlers und des Technikers vereint. Der Entwurf, der dort entstand, war extrem einfach, aber h\u00f6chst funktional. Die M\u00f6bel sollten leicht, haltbar und langlebig sein und sich leicht in Massenproduktion herstellen lassen. Die Entw\u00fcrfe zeichnen sich durch einfache Linien, abstrakte Formen und auff\u00e4llige Farben aus. Zu den herausragenden Werken dieses Trends geh\u00f6ren der Barcelona-Stuhl von Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe und der Wassily-Stuhl von Marcel Breuer. Das Bauhaus existierte nur etwa ein Dutzend Jahre, aber es ver\u00e4nderte das Denken \u00fcber Design f\u00fcr immer, indem es Elemente der Psychologie einf\u00fchrte: Objekte sollten nicht nur sch\u00f6n und praktisch sein, sondern auch den Lebensstil beeinflussen und ihn immer moderner machen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Der Art d\u00e9co-Stil entstand als Reaktion auf den Jugendstil, der sich durch Disziplinlosigkeit und eine Art Chaos auszeichnete. Der neue Stil war opulent und gleichzeitig minimalistisch. Jedes Objekt zeichnete sich durch edle Materialien, solide Verarbeitung und Liebe zum Detail aus. F\u00fcr diese Art von Design wurden kostbare Stoffe (wie Satin, Seide oder Samt), lackiertes Holz, Glas und Marmor verwendet. In dieser Zeit r\u00fcckten Funktionalit\u00e4t und Erschwinglichkeit modischer Produkte in den Vordergrund und wurden f\u00fcr den Massenmarkt zug\u00e4nglich. Das Design aus dieser Zeit ist unkompliziert, mit einfachen Linien und stromlinienf\u00f6rmigen Formen. Zu den minimalistischen Formen gesellten sich kr\u00e4ftige, oft fast kitschige Farben wie Orange, Senfgelb, Limette, T\u00fcrkis oder intensives Blau. Zu dieser Zeit eroberte die Raumfahrt die Phantasie der Massen. Die Designer begannen zu experimentieren, wollten modernste Technologien einsetzen und nahmen bewusst Bezug auf Vorstellungen von au\u00dferirdischen Zivilisationen. Charakteristische Elemente dieser Zeit waren silberne Oberfl\u00e4chen (die Tapeten wurden aus der gleichen Folie wie die Raumanz\u00fcge hergestellt), flie\u00dfende, geschwungene Formen, sph\u00e4rische Formen und k\u00fcnstliche Materialien, wie sie in Entw\u00fcrfen wie dem Sofa aus Gummi und Schaumstoff von Olivier Morgue (das Teil des B\u00fchnenbilds im Film Space Odyssey wurde) und dem Kugelstuhl von Eero Aarnio zu sehen sind. Die M\u00f6bel und andere Designelemente sollten tragbar und kompakt sein, wie zum Beispiel aufblasbare Sessel und Sitzs\u00e4cke, die sich der Sitzposition anpassen.<\/span><\/p>\n
